1) Tell us a little bit about yourself – including something we may not know about you.

  •  I grew up in a small town on the East Coast of Canada, Port Joli, Nova Scotia. Population of the area is around 2500 so Cayman is still big to me. I work on the island as a Chiropractor at a clinic called MOTUS. I’ve been on island for a little over a year and I really enjoy it. Growing up, I played a ton of sports and competed as a varsity track athlete at Dalhousie University. CrossFit wise, I’ve been at it for almost 3 years now. Fun fact – I started surfing when I was 8 and represented Canada on the World Junior Team from the ages of 12 to 18.

2) When I see Thrusters in a workout, I think,  “I got this!”

3) When I see Burpee Box Jumps in a workout,  I think, “Big uh-oh!”

4) Favorite thing to do in Cayman?

  •  My favorite thing to do in Cayman would be to go for a surf if there’s waves. If it’s flat, go for a dive.

5) If you could write your own WOD, what would it look like?

FOR TIME

5 BMU, 1 THRUSTER (135/95), 100M RUN

4 BMU, 2 THRUSTER, 200M RUN

3 BMU, 3 THRUSTER, 300M RUN

2 BMU, 4 THRUSTER, 400M RUN

1 BMU, 5 THRUSTER, 500M RUN

Sounds fun, let’s program this? WOD name – Clock’s tickin’ Rick

6) If you weren’t a chiropractor, what would you be doing?

  • If I wasn’t a chiro I think I would have pursued psychiatry.

7) Favorite sports hero?

  • My favorite sports hero is Kelly Slater. Kelly has been on the world tour of surfing since 1990 and still competes with the young guns at the ripe age of 51.

8) Favorite piece of advice you’ve been given.

  • Favorite piece of advice that I’ve ever been given is that you have two ears and one mouth and it’s best to use them in that proportion.

9) Name one thing that you cannot go a day without.

  • One thing that I don’t think I could go a day without is a little support. Whether it comes from my partner, patients, friends, family or coach at 7 Mile. Let the people around you know they’re appreciated.

10) What is your favorite part of your day?

  • Favorite part of my day is the first hour of the morning. Wake up early but lazy. Sit back with a little coffee, check the schedule and make a plan for the day.

11) Anything on your bucket list?

  • Biggest thing on my bucket list is to take my old man to a game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Bonus points if the Rangers are playing.

12) Would you recommend 7 Mile Strength & Fitness to others and if so, why?

  • I recommend 7 Mile all the time! You get introduced to a new community that shares an interest in fitness, health and bettering themselves. Everyone at 7mile is there for the right reasons and it helps to keep you accountable. Suffering during a WOD is something more people should probably do anyways 🙂
